Here is a video explaining the Telecommunications Use Case and how we tackle the massive storage demands in a mobile world.
After presenting the Media Use Case last December, we produced a new video explaining what the Telco Use Case is all about.
We are working on a novel solution for the massive storage demands in the cloud. The video provides an overview over the use case's motivation and research goals as well as an introduction into the VISION Cloud research project.
The Telco Use Case is one of VISION Cloud's four use cases in which the key areas for innovations in our research are applied and tested. Computational Storage and Metadata are the main innovations that the Telco Use Case relies on: In this intelligent cloud solution, data is being tagged and transformed on-the-fly depending on the device it is viewed on. For example a high-definition video file could be automaticly transcoded into a lower resolution when streamed to a mobile device.
